The following are rules and guidelines for Thoroughbred Registration with the FJC. Please read before applying for registration!
1. All horse(s) must be Purebred Thoroughbred to register.
2. Horses(s) names must be 18 characters, all forms of characters such as; numbers may be allowed providing the board approves it.
3. All horse(s) are required to list a breeder. You may make them up, or you may ask a Furcadia player to be a breeder if they are in the business of breeding Thoroughbreds on Furcadia.
4. If we find the name is 'iffy', we will deny the registration. This basically means, no words of vulgarity or otherwise should be used.
5. Please always give an exact birthdate for your horse when registering it! This helps us create a very personalized registration number.
6. Real Life Racehorses will be allowed to register, but only as breeding stock! Not as actual racehorses on Furcadia -- the reasons are below:
However, you are more then welcome to also re-create the character into another horse. Just not that same exact horse, meaning; different pedigree, colors and markings or gender.
7. The Registration form MUST be complete or could be in danger of not being accepted!
8. Height of a Thoroughbred should range from 14 to 17 hands high, anything above will not be accepted.
9. Once you have registered a horse, you may not change the registration except for the following items; farm, owner and previous owner.
COLORS and MARKINGS[/u]
ALL COLORS WILL BE ALLOWED.
For markings please refer to these sheets to help you with terminology.
Legs, Face, for body markings I suggest visiting the AQHA or other registry sites that have an assorted amount of colorations available on horses not seen in Thoroughbreds.
What is the benefit of registering my Thoroughbred Character?
There are many wonderful benefits! For one thing, you must be registered in order to compete in horse racing events at Wyldeayre Downs! Also, because you are registering you're horse here we will keep all your records for you! Including, but not limited to; offspring, racing records, awards recieved and so forth. This will be easy since the Furcadian Jockey Club is also managed by the racetrack itself!
Also if at any time the changable items must be changed (farm, owner or previous owner) please go to the Racing Office in Wyldeayre Downs or contact the following individuals: Kisco, Jypsi or Katerina JelĂnek on the game or PM them on this board. Or you may also contact them if any other questions arise.
FORM[/u]
Please fill out the following form accordingly and completed. Allow up to five days for application acceptance. Which means, if you are doing this a day before a race your basically screwed!
Please copy & paste into a new thread.
After you have been accepted, you're registration will be put into a yearly category denoting the 'year' the character was registered. This way it will be much easier to find a horse and keep a good record of how many horses get registered yearly!
If there is any changes suchas being sold or purchased, please make sure to update us with your new owners, the amount you were bought for and where you now reside!
Thank You!

6. Real Life Racehorses will be allowed to register, but only as breeding stock! Not as actual racehorses on Furcadia -- the reasons are below:
- If I were to allow a real life racehorse name to register and be raced here, it might cause a little confusion. Moreso with the more famous horses then the lesser known ones. Because, it would look awfully funny to see a horse race that was the sire of another horse when infact they are both the same age.
- For that very same reason, people first coming into the racing community may also become confused by this. I'd rather not confuse the new comers!
- I'm not sure about you, but when I raced a famous race horse on Furcadia I never did very well. Matter of fact, I basically did poorly as a racer. By reflecting on their irl career you may in some way give yourself false hope that you can achieve that same career. It's not going to happen really.
- I find that if you create your own horse, you get a subtle sense of satisfaction from it in ways you do not when you use a 'real life' horse. I mean, it's your creation, you thought it out long and hard. So in that way, you actually have more confidence in yourself.
However, you are more then welcome to also re-create the character into another horse. Just not that same exact horse, meaning; different pedigree, colors and markings or gender.
